Why Volunteer?

The Churchill VFC provides an opportunity to:

  • serve the community;
  • learn new skills;
  • meet new people;
  • build long-lasting friendships;
  • start a career as a firefighter. 

Training is provide at the Fire Company and the Allegheny County Fire Training Academy at no expense to members.

Requirements to Join

Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.

Applicants over age 18 must possess a valid driver's license at the time of application, live or work in the area, and have a satisfactory driving record. 

No previous firefighting experience is required; all training will be provided.  Prospective members with previous firefighting/emergency medical experience or military service are also welcome.

To Apply

If you think you may be interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter, please stop by the fire station on the second, third or fourth Thursday of the month (see our meeting schedule).  Or, you can email info@churchillfire.org and someone will contact you. We look forward to hearing from you!
